My wife bought me a set of matte black grills for Christmas from Trinity Autosport after some hinting. She said Trinity was easy to work with and had fast shipping, so props to them!

I installed them on the car this morning following these instructions:

(The pics are broken but the write-up was good)

It took me about 10-15 minutes. No broken tabs on the new grills or the old ones.

What do you guys think?

Nice!! I just got mine on this week, they look great! I'm trying to get rid of all my chrome, do you still have chrome around your doors?

The trim around my doors is black. I think they call it shadow-line or something. The only "chrome" I really have left is the 550i tab on the back. Anyone know if they make blacked out 550i emblems I can buy? Or I could just remove it all together... hmm.

Anyways, thanks for looking.

I like them off but you can definitely buy them man... I know Bimmian.com sells them.

BTW shadowline is correct

I'd definatley go with black instead of removing them. You have a 550 after all, it would look very stealth!

Nice. I'm still debating the black grill thing. I'm just thinking it would stop the car from looking "classy" and make it all "sport".

Hey Tonymac. Thanks for the info. I just went to Bimmian.com and they have the emblems but they are back-ordered. Do you know of any other places that may have them? Google searches didn't reveal much.

Thanks!

I'm in the same boat as you but for a different reason. I think the black grill would make the whole front end black and no contrast. It would just be the headlights. I think it looks good on all colors except for black.
