Hi Guys,

I am new to the forum. Ive been looking thru different topics and found lots of usefull information. Very nice forum thank to all of you :)

I am planning to buy new wheels for my mystic blue BMW E60 530i. Currently and most of the time I am in UK but I drive my car back in Russia far away from here.

Roads are complete crap so I am looking for 18". The price Im after is not more than 1500$ for set of 4 rims without tires. Performance also matters, so probably light weight wheels will be an option.

Please advice,
What do you think is the best finish and style for the mystic blue E60?
I want to buy them online, do you know any websites with good catalogue that also ship worldwide or to UK??

Thanks a lot in advance!

-Leo.

If you're going with aftermarket wheels, I would highly recommend 19''. I don't really know of anyone with aftermarket 18'' as they usually look small on our car. For 19'' wheels in your budget, take a look at these brands: Miro, Velocity Motoring, and Linea Corse. Contact Trinity or acuteperformance on these forums for pricing on them.

Also, welcome to the forums!

I would even go for 20" if the roads were not that bad! When Im driving on my OEM 18" 245/40 I need to hold the steering wheel quite tightly cuz it is not stable on these damn roads with humps and holes everywhere. I could imagine how it will feel on 19", it would probably start causing damage to suspension.

Thanks for the advice!

Can't go wrong with VMRs. Good quality @ an excellent price.

Just found on ebay, what do you think of these?

Team Dynamics Jade-R 18x8.5 front, 18x9.5 rear

Silver or black for a mystic blue car?

Don't think these will be the choice of many here
Too small I'd they r 18s. You need at least 19's

I would personally stick to VMR wheels as they look classier and match the persona of the E60 in my opinion. They have their wheels available in 18'' as well. In regards to color, both will look good on the E60, depends on if you want the wheels to pop out more (silver) or blend in a bit more and look sleeker (black or dark finish).

Also, the picture shows the wheels on an E46, are the offsets for an E46 or E60? If you have regular E46 offsets on an E60, it will look weird and you should get spacers.

Oh and I would say VMR wheels for sure since you mentioned how bumpy the roads are. I wouldn't trust non-brand name or well established wheels from ebay. They might crack or bend and then you will have buy replacement wheels which will add up.

I just bought these for my winter tire set-up (19 inch Blizzaks) and they are better looking to me than my OEM 166s. The style is 101M and the replicas are exact castings using all stock parts (caps, lugs, bore, etc) so no hub rings or vibration. I'm thrilled with them and they cost $499 including shipping to my home in Pennsylvania.

You have lots of options!

Those wheels come in 18" and 19" and the offsets are for E60. Team Dynamics is a well-known company in Europe, I reckon they should be reliable.

I know everyone says 19" are much better. Ive been driving on 18/245/40, is it possible to get tire set for 19" with the profile close to the ones I had?

Also, are there alternatives to VMR that havent been mentioned?

Thanks!
