My Ride: M5
I went to the E60 event this weekend in a M5 with an RPI exhaust and I found that it wasn't as loud as some exhausts I have heard. We drove at high speeds, revving to high RPM's, and we were still chatting it up and using our cells' without interruption. Don't get me wrong, you feel the exhaust AND it sounds great on the outside, but you don't have to compromise sound when adding a great exhaust system like Race Precision's.

I kinda thought RPI was on the louder side...I wanted to do a quad tip RPI setup for my 530i once I get my M5 rep kit...Whats the best way about doing this, money is no prob, only because im willing to wait to get the job done right.

how are you going to deal with tax during custom?

I'm a G.I. Joe in the Air Force. My car is Stateside and that's how I've been able to get the Dinan stuff. I was there last week and installed the throttle body, stage 3, RPI scoops...what a big difference. Iwill be back stateside othe 8th for good and realy want the Dinan exhaust, but I refuse to shellout the $1200. I think I might go with the RPI.

I dont care if its costs more, but is there a way to set it up that preserves the tone and power? Like whats an xpipe (sorry for the noob questions but im new!) and can I somehow get a cross between a custom exhaust and RPI? I just love the sound but need quadpipe after i get the m5 rep. kit....

You will also have problems with the right side because of the battery box. try using the search feature located in the upper right hand corner.

I dont care about the power, Im in it for the looks and sound whats the best I can do? I LOVE the sound of the RPI but when I get the rep kit Im going to want a quad setup...whats the best way to keep the best sound? Just go complete custom exhaust? or go with the rpi mufflers and get them custom fit? I saw the RPI on a 530i on youtube (I also have a 530i) and it sounded GREAT. Thats what I want, I like it on the louder/aggressive sound without souding like crap. Any advice? Remember im in it for the looks and sound!
