Just back from my trip to the 1st real trip to the Nurburgring - an absolutely amazing weekend! Managed to get 16 laps in. Weather was variable, and I had a couple of problems with the tuning box, but I got everything fixed OK. I'd fitted a bullet cam to the front bumper and was videoing my laps, then checking the lap times afterwards. My best lap time was 8.58, which I though wasn't too bad for a beginner.

Anyway, here's the 8.58 lap vid (quite boring, last lap of the day and nothing much to overtake): Right Click, Save as (80mb file)

And here's a short bit of footage of me behind Sabina in the ring taxi: Right Click, Save as (12mb file)

By the way, is NE FS 535 on this forum? I tried to find you in the car park but you must have left - I have some small video footage of you.

Will try and post some more footage later today - cars I overtook include Porsche boxsters, Scoobys, e39 m5 and even a french GT3!! (the GT3 driver clearly didn't know the circuit well at all though..)

That sounds v.good? I thought Jeremy Clarkson struggled to beat 10mins in the twin-turbo Jag? (Ok it's vastly inferior but...)

Great footage! Was that an M5 that zipped by you on the left side in the taxi chase? Was that an Alfa in front of you in the taxi chase?

Great footage. I've only ever done it on GT4

Nice to hear you beat Clarkson by more than a full minute.

What did you think of the handling? I still think the e60 has more body roll than it should even the M sport rolls far too much IMHO.

I think I could do better - I had brake fade by that point so was braking pretty early. Will consider upgrading the brake fluid for the next trip. Clarkson did struggle but the problem with timing is that you can often get held up with traffic. I actually agree that timing laps makes accidents more likely - what I do is work out the time from the video footage afterwards. I'm going to go as fast as is possible traffic conditions allowing - thats why later in the day is always better because its quieter. If I get held up, then not to worry, just have fun overtaking GT3s and e39 M5s

Yip - was quite fast as far as I can recall. Nobody got any real speed on that lap because of the various accidents.
