My Ride: BMW E60 525dA 11-2004 Silver HUD, BT, Voice Control, Active Seats, Seat Heating (front), Xenon HID, Navigation Professional with CCC, Leather Dakota Black, Folding mirros, anti-glare mirrors in+outside, HiFi, CiC retrofitted, Aux in, CD Changer, Dension 500GW, etc...
Thumbs up

Hi guys & girls,

I was looking for the equipment I need to do my own programming on the car (getting tired of leaving my car for a day to do a simple thing)

So I found this company that sells it all http://www.haetech.com/products_detail.asp?id=73

Apparantly they can do it for +/- $500 with software & laptop included...

Any thoughts on them or experiences?

Thanks,

Sven

My Ride: '04 530d Executive, all options except sunroof and comfort seats ECU remapped by ZipTuning to 260+bhp.

Would be cheaper to buy if you do lots of mods (like adding your own AUX input, which is quite easy to do, but needs enabling in the software).
Dealers charge a hundred bucks to do some simple settings...

Go to bmwecu.org and do some research. With a $15 cable and software downloads from p to p (actual bmw software) you can do your own programming and diagnostics. I have done this myself with my 07' e60.

Correction with the price, the woman gave me the wrong price (only for software+laptop).

The total price for the whole package is 1100 USD (792 EUR) + 100$ for shipping.

Just ordered it and should arrive in 5 days...

Considering the retrofits it should keep costs at break even a bit with all the constant recoding costs:
- bi-xenon with adaptive lighting .... coding
- CD Changer retrofit ... coding
- MP3 retrofit ... coding (they still haven't figured it out here on how to do it)
- Rainsensor calibration ... coding
- reset airbag light after removing seat ... coding
- Webasto heater ... coding
- etc..

Sounds great! Let us know how it works out. By the way, did you have to specify that your are in Europe or does the laptop come pre-loaded with all regional software versions (US, Europe, Asia, etc...)
