Default Catless vs Catted downpipes with a stock exhaust

I'm looking to get some downpipes and deciding between catless and catted. My only concern is the smell. I had read that there is no smell with the catless if you retain the stock exhaust. Anyone have that setup here?

This is my daily driver and I haul my kids around in it so I may end up going with catted to be safe.

I'm running with a cobb stage 1 tune, but have just bought an afternmarket FMIC and looking to get a chargepipe as well.

Thanks!

I've heard as long as you keep the secondary cats there is no smell.
