Gents,

I have heard conflicting view on this. I want to add some lowering springs to get the ride height right for the new wheels.

Also, I have read several posts in whoch people say that you cannot spec the M bodykit with Dynamic Drive. This is not true. The car I am referring to has both fitted from the factory.

Thanks in advance

U cannot order a M-packet\sport 5 series with dynamic drive. BUT, if you order a standard 5 series with dynamic drive, it is possible to install the m-packet or aero kit on it. Some dealers will say that they will have to then disable the dynamic drive because it makes use of some sort of rollbar that does not fit into the m-sport front bumper. They are right. However i will not be suprised if some other dealer have found a way to transfer the dynamic drive roll bars into the m-sport bumpers.

They may also simply disable it without telling u.

yes you can lower a car with dd/ars. some threads in the parts forum cover this.

you cannot get the m sport model w/ dd, since that model comes with the m suspension. you can get m bodykit with dd no problem.

Good explanation. I didn't know all the facts...and i always wondered why one could not fit DD and M kit (with M suspension). Dealer told me you don't need DD when you got such a hardcore suspension (factory hardcore at least).
I for one am more than satisfied with the suspension set-up, in fact i will go probably in the near future with the M5 anti-roll bars and with a shorter/stiffer set of springs aka H&R race

I think you cannot order M-paket with DD only due to the M-suspension. I have my car with DD and aeroparts assembled at the factory by BMW Individual. I could make them agree to install only aerodynamic parts so there should be no problem with that.

I order the m-kit and the dealer told me due to the low clearance an fit , I couldn't order the sport package as it would make the car to lower and would have problems driving, thus scuffing alot and bottoming out?
I did however order the active steering as a seperate option though and upgraded to 19in M rims? Thoughts?

IMO the DD is best in E60, of course non-M5 but I prefer this at this moment. An other thing is they said in the BMW factory that those not available options like M package and DD you can order or any other colors if you pay.
It is true that you cannot get the pack w DD, so we got sports suspensioned stock and if all goes well plan to drop it 4-2cm (f/r) when the HAMANN springs and the wheels come in. ps. my car is lower than M pack although I only have now the 1,5cm normal sports suspension. ...but still, I am not talking about the look nor HAMANN optical effects, inside driving the car on smooth roads standing next to normal and both M pack cars.
