I have a 2008 535xi with Style 123 rims from a 2005 530i Sport. While I have been given conflicting information about the offset, they probably are 20 and not 43. I believe this pushes out the rims further. My dealer says the fitment is fine, albeit I am not sure how knowledgeable they are on rims. The handling is definitely nicer than the standard 17" wheels and I haven't had any issues that I noticed. Is there a safety or wear issue from this setup?

Your dealer is wrong. The fitment is not fine. Have you already mounted these wheels onto your 535xi?

Yes. I had them on the car for a few weeks now. Can you explain the potential harm of having the wrong offset?

I will leave that up to our resident AWD expert cmansbimmer. Also, forgot to mention that our admin das knows quite a bit as well.

What size tire? 245/40/18? They are not rubbing?

No (with 245/40/18 set-up). I believe it makes the wheels & tires stick out more than normal. If I put the right inputs in on 1010 tires calculator (saw from another thread), the rims are 17mm further away from the strut housing & extend 29mm more on the outside edge over the standard 17" wheels.

That seems like a pretty big difference over the original setup. Do they look good or do they seem like they are sticking out too far? If you don't have any rubbing issues, that is your main concern.

I guess if the wheel is significantly changed from the original setup you could see higher bearing wear over time, but it might not be anything you notice.

Post a picture... im surprised you are not rubbing but your car definitely should look like a go kart.
