Can a resistor burn out a headlight?

LEDs don't draw much current which is why you use a resistor to draw more current and fool the car's LCM to think it has a regular bulb attached. dont swap the bulb yet. Or try this:
1) Switch back to ur stock and see if it turns on. If it still doesnt turn on, it should be ur ballast.
2) Swap ur ballasts from the working unit to the bad.
3) Determine what needs to be replaced.
4) Then find Garry at Newport for BMW parts

I thought the D1S had an integrated ballast (Fixed into the headlight).

THE D1S has an inetgrated ignitor on the bulb. THat huge square box built into the bulb is the ignitor. Not ballast. Tjhe ballast is underneath the headlight. The bigger one is the ballast and smaller one is control box.

Turns out it can.
The resistors I put in are 50w 6ohm. They were drawing way to much power, and burning out the HID bulbs themselves.
I need to find some new resistors asap, as im' on my backup set of OEM bulbs right now.

I wanted a High Intensity Discharge kit which is a very cool light and
better visibility especially during night driving. I opted to go with
the single beam HID kit too and love it, they are cheaper on ebay but
I wanted a warranty so I got it here

the forum sponsors selling
Headlight Kits usually have a sale going on. Either way its a
great system, and very easy to install.
