Hey everyone.

So i have LED side markers, turn signals, etc all hooked up nicely.

Turns out one of my headlights went out (the HID bulb). Dealer says it's due to the "high" amount of power thats being drawn to it.

Apparently it burned out the bulb, and the control module.

has anyone ever had this happen to them?

Doesn't sound right but what size resistor were you using?

6 OHM 50W 2 BULB LED LOAD RESISTORS TURN SIGNAL BLINKER FIX 7443 7440 3157 1156 1157
That's what my order says. Looks like 6Ohms, which is what V-LEDs.com recommended for Turn signals.

That sounds bogus. I have LEDS for every light on my car... and I mean every light! lol, haven't had a problem yet.

There's not one bulb in my car that is a regular bulb.. LOL I know I'm crazy.

HID bulb is seperate for your functional lights too I believe. It could be your ballast might be going bad if it burned out the bulb. If anything, just replaced the bulbs and see what happens.

[LED] God has spoken.

I'll try swapping it out, and see what happens. I bought the headlight bulbs from Elite Motor Sports, so we'll see what happens (maybe it went defective, who knows).

That will pull about 2 amps/24 watts from the LCM, not sure what the stock bulbs are though but that shouldn't burn it out.

Would you have to put a bigger fuse?

No. Did a fuse blow? Listen to Mike...he has an LED obsession!

LEDs don't draw much current which is why you use a resistor to draw more current and fool the car's LCM to think it has a regular bulb attached. Provided you don't unstall a resistor that a) is too low in ohms (which could draw too much current) or b) too low in watts (it might get too hot and melt) you should be fine.

If you are blowing fuses you might have a short somewhere so don't put a bigger one in!
