Over the winter my steering wheel developed a hot spot at the 2 o'clock position. So hot it would actually leave a red mark if you touched it with bare skin! Yesterday I had to take the car in for the passenger air bag seat sensor recall and got a brand new steering wheel out of it.
I'm so happy I got it done since it was snowing today!
I also got them to change the seal on the sunroof as it seemed to be developing too much wind noise...it's much better now too!

My original steering wheel has some iregular bumps and complained to my SA and got a new steering wheel under warranty. This was about 3 years ago.

At first I thought I was just being anal about it until I smelled and physically saw smoke coming off the wheel....

An SB would be appreciated. I want to go fully armed to the dealer and not listen to some BS how its not covered...
FYI my car is CPO'ed and at about 75k. The OP mentioned to me that his car was CPO'ed and got it covered under warranty so I'm expecting the same results. I'm planning on taking it in next week and will post an update.

Steering wheel replaced under CPO warranty.
Took about 2 hours at the dealer and a 4 week wait time for the wheel to come in from Germany.
