Anyone running these on here?
http://www.burgertuning.com/BMW_LED_angel_eyes.html (option 1)
I purchased a used (2-month) set from the classifieds and was super excited to replace my Weisslicht 5W bulbs.
This isn't the best picture but the 10W might be MARGINALLY brighter than the 5W.

Do the BMS bulbs need to be installed in a certain orientation like the Weisslicht ones?

If LED's are positioned facing up /down/ left/ right I do not see how orientation would matter.
I bought 20W LED H8 and while installation was 5 minutes and no errors after weeks...they are barely noticeable in daylight. Factory oryginal are visible in sun, my 20W LED - not so.

I understand why the LED AE's aren't as visible as the stock ones (wavelengths etc) BUT in a garage, a (4) 10W LEDs should be brighter than (2) 5W LEDs. Maybe its due to the way the Weisslicht bulbs are designed (pushes the LEDs out to the "fiber optic" rings.
I agree that orientation shouldn't matter. I guess I'm just disappointed because I was expecting a significant improvement going to 10W bulbs. I know the only way to get really bright AE's is HIDs but then you lose the crisp ring.

There are a lot of hypes in these AE LED that 10w that using 4 LEDs actualy = to 2.5w each (while the 5w 2 LEDs is also @ 2.5w each) but due to the positioning of the LEDs somehow made them look different in brightness ... 2 LEDs back-to-back while 4 LEDs almost a surround.
Not all tell the truth on their spec ... AFAIK as padre said somethin' like -> NEW!!! 20 Watt CREE LED H8 BMW Angel Eyes Upgrade for 1, 3, and 5 Series, X5 and X6 Models is a quad-LEDs and each at 5w that seems to be gaining momentum. But my take ... light output especially in daylight still not that great.
I haven't try any LEDs yet ... so far still happy w/ plain 'ole glass tube H8 (except I hacked it w/ relay so I get a strong & steady voltage) ...

I have seen many newer bimmers here in sunny south Florida with very bright AEs as daytime running lights, very bright in the Fl sun.
Now, I don't know if these are modded which I don't think so, it seems to me like it is some sort of factory option.
I would really like this but there are'nt many choices for pre LCI E60.

The 4 LED H8 20W (10W each) angel eyes upgrade kit is 360º of powerful LED lighting which makes these LEDs comparable to some of the more expensive setups on the market.
My biggest issue with the Weisslicht 5W's was that the outer ring was never "full" at any angle except straight on. Even if the BMS 10W's weren't crazy bright, I was at least expecting the outer ring to be more full. This is not the case

You may want to query BMS ... 4 LED H8 20W (10W each) means 10w each LED? But that would be questionable which make a whopping 40w each bulb/side ... or 10w each side = 2.5w x 4 LEDs each bulb/side.
I think the design inside headlight is the reason why the un-even ring 'cuz the outer ring is further away. That's why when using HID the outer ring get bright but the inside get too bright and become just a blob of bright don't not showing the ring anymore.
I saw the other kind that has a V split head ... dunno if those any better as it seems to shine the LED to a particular direction.

According to the BMS product description, it does say the following:

The Weisslicht ones were the "V split" design. More flimsy but a much better design IMO. I have the "version 2" so I guess I went from 6W (3W each) to "10W each".

Here is the response I got from BMS
Very misleading!
Hello Jason, Our LED angel eyes have 4 LED bulbs that are 2.5W each x 4 per unit = 10W x2 Units = 20W. On that car the LEDs will look just like the factory lights but LED color. Even if you pit HID bulbs in there it will not be that bright. The LEDs are still limited by the older headlight housing. Just make sure they are in correctly and not half in the socket.
