It took me a couple of hours of just brushing to get it to that stage, since I don't have any special equipment and just did it with hand. I also experimented with different sandpapers and abrasive pads until I got the look that I wanted. But at the end it was worth it. The more I see it everyday the more I like it.
If you end up doing it you have to first take the complete kidney grills off of the car and then separate the chrome part from the center section. Be careful when separating the two sections as the tabs do brake easily if you lift them too far ( as well as when holding them in your hands while brushing). I had to re-attach one tab that broke off. Super Glue would not hold it so I had to use a dental acrylic type of adhesive. It worked fine and to be honest the chrome part would stay on tight even with some tabs broken off, but do be carefull as they do brake easlily.

Rody thanks for the tips, since i have to get the 545 grills anyway it'll save me some time in removing them in the first place. May i ask what grit sandpaper you used, & did you wetsand or dry??
