Hi,

Recently bought Xentec HID Fogs from here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...027456&rd=1 ($24 + $48 shipping lol)

& Adapter from here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=190196927765
(HID DAY TIME RUNNING LIGHT WIRE HARNESS DRL, BMW)

I had BMW Dealer Tech install it, Once he hooked up all up, power on to see if they light up, they didnt!! And one of the capacitors on the above Adapter blew up!! Waste of installation fee + reship back to seller

I am not sure if the HID Fogs is the problem or the Adapter? Anyone recommend a good HID Fogs pls.. Thanks!!

Got reply from the Seller of The Error-Free Adapter Cable..

sorry to hear that. the reason it pop because u wiring it wrong. first, u have to know the polarity of the wire before connect the wire harness because the power only can travel from one side of the capacitor to the other side. if u wiring it reversed, the capacitor will pop and get extermerly hot.
please work with care,
also, all the item were check and tested before ship out, so u won't receive the defected items.
if u decide to try it one more time, i suggest u get the resister wire harness instead of the power booster. because the computer sense the foglight has less resistance and current, so it shut it off, so u need the resister cable not the power booster cable.
i will send u another email for the items. once again, because this is involving the wiring and electronic matter,so i won't guarantee it will solve the problem for u as i mention on the auction page.
thank you
Now, asking me to buy diff type cable: HID WARNING CANCEL CABLE, CANBUS CANCELLER FOR BMW
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=190217843086

Looks like this is the cable I need in first place... read long back about few guys installing some 'canbus' adapter..

Hehe, no biggy, getting the correct canbus cable from seller.. Can you confirm: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=190217843086 should work right... Seller says no guarantee it will work lol.. but to me looks like it should work.

Edit: Ebay Seller for error-free cable cannot exchange it seems, sucks! Placed new order for the above cable.. hopefully all works ok

That's odd, cause i thought i linked you to this cable before. But theoretically it should work.

The one you provide me in PM before is this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=190196927765 <<-- Power booster

Ebay Seller says the one I would need is: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=190217843086 <<-- Resistor wire harness

Seller's Reponse: "if u decide to try it one more time, i suggest u get the resister wire harness instead of the power booster. because the computer sense the foglight has less resistance and current, so it shut it off, so u need the resister cable not the power booster cable"
