I want to update the DVD Navigation disc with the latest release version. According to Navteq( http://navteq.com ) the latest version is 2009.1 released ~Sept 2008. I called around. BMW NA and Navteq both report that there is no new release on the near horizons at this time. But since it's been about 1yr that this current version is out and they tend to release every 12mths - 18mths I am expecting an updated release soon.

I would not want to pay ~$200 now and in 3mths they release a brand new updated DVD. I could stand to pay maybe $50 and then buy another in a year or so but $200 is just too much. I live in an area that is doing a lot of major road and building contruction.

I wanted to know if anyone has information on a new Navigation DVD release anytime soon.

A friend of mine downloaded the torrent to the 2009.1 nav discs and burned it on to a DVD

in the UK/Europe we seem to get 2 per year not sure about NA. current one in UK is 2009-2.

As BMWPower06 said you can find the torrent and download it. when burning make sure you use a high quality disc and burn on the slowest speed. you can even add your own POI.

hope this helps.

Please do not discuss anything related to the illegal copying and distribution of copyrighted material. If you need an update to your nav disc, you can purchase one from BMW or from Navteq. You might also find a used one for sale on eBay, etc.

Again, we do not condone this type of illegal behavior on these forums!

After considering a couple different options I decided to purchase the 2009.1 DVD from eBay. I got a good deal on a lightly used(no scratches) Navteq original BMW DVD last week Tuesday(9-15-2009) and purchased it. The seller got it to me in 3 days. It works great after a system recommended 5 minute shutdown and restart. I really like the added Red Light Camera feature and the updated maps.
I plan to sell my original 2005.2 and the original 2009.1 eventually. The Washington DC Metro area seems to never stop construction of new streets and builds so I will have to update if I want the most up to date maps.
