I just installed the IPOD Interface (original one that comes in place instead of the 6-CD changer). Now, I connected my iPod Nano (6th generation) and it only shows "Accessory Connected" instead of the usual BMW logo.

The BMW software is up to date. Full coding done 6 months ago by dealer. I am wondering whether it's the 6th generation nano that is just too new to connect.
Does anybody successfully connected an iPod Nano 6th generation to the BMW iPod interface?

Paulie,

I can only relate, I have the same problem and on top of that I cannot access playlists. Did you find an answer ?

Cheers,

Danny

Nope. Tried the plastic 30-pins to lightning connector as well as the cable. Same thing. iPod not recognised. Will need to switch to the old one; missing my music.

have you guys got MP3 enabled in the iDrive? the "external" option needs to be selected in its' trace file for it to work.

Unless this is an ipod thing, have you tried older ipods/iphones?

if the older ones work and your new one does not, I recommend a Bluetooth solution. Connect the Bluetooth module to the 30 pin and then any newer iphone/itouch to the adapter wirelessly. The ViseeO Tune2air WMA1000 seems to work amazingly with the BMW.

However not sure if you nano can support Bluetooth connections--not familiar

Does the ViseeO Tune2air WMA1000 enable control over the iDrive as the regular connection would support?

edit: Just checked it and it does. Actually quite nice device. Think of buying it.
