i find it completely outrageous the price of a DVD, it make no sense at all,
or can someone please tell me why it is so expensive 299 from the dealer,
any comments?

It is expensive because people will pay that price for it. It's a BMW ... that's what they do

I didn't hear anything about a 2008 version either. Heard the 2007.2 version would last awhile since the maps on the 2007.2 included new developments, and those in the planning phase that are approved by the city... (not sure how true that is either)...

Maybe 2008-1 is coming out in europe first, you havent listed your location in so we dont know where you are. But trust me, 2008-1 is already here, if you know where to look.

I'm guessing the dealers will charge as much as people are willing to pay.

Anything can be ripped and burned with the right software, xbox games, wii games, movies, nav discs.
Of course you must not do it if the material is copyrighted.
