Ben, do they download the Progman by internet or they update the car directly by internet? I don't think the second, because if for some reason they lost the connection ...
Hi AlexFW

At the BMW dealership where I come , they are one of the best equipped in Denmark ( wire lees touchscreen monitor's , and coding heads etc. ), the mechanic's are also on every training sesion that BMW DK have/holds , thereto they have a direct internet line to BMW in M?nich with there computer/server, so when they update a car's SW they do this from/over the local computer/server placed in the house by them, but at the same time they are constantly uploaded to M?nich , so basicly the people in M?nich can see what we are doing when we code a car ( they can look us "over" the shoulder ), and we would in teorie be able to get help from the german technicians that way a-round , we haven't done this yet , but it should be possible , when the system is fully implemented the technicians in Germany would be able to program a car here ,with other words they can be sitting in M?nich and do the troubleshooting/programing on a car here by the dealer in Denmark.

All software update's are done over this "direct" line , and find mostly part at night , but sometimes also at daytime , they can see this , for when the update are in progres the "in hous" system run's very "slow" , but they are working on eliminating this problem to.

So you can understand I'm very glad , to be on "good" foot with them and there staf , all very nice and helpfull people , and thats counts for ALL , from "garageboy" up to the "director/owner"
