WTF! I couldn't believe it but it is true. My local BMW dealership just sent me a quote for almost USD$9,400 for the front bumper, sideskirt and back bumper.

No wonder I've only seen one E60 here with this mod.

Is it me or is this completely nuts?

Rip off! Get the kit from either Frank or Garry and get it painted at a indy shop.

That's a lot, even ridiculous. From a dealer here in the US you could probably get all that for $3 - 4K max. I'd say shop around and see what other body shops would charge you.

Frank and Garry will not ship outside of the US.....(as the OP's location is Guatemala)

perhaps Trinity Autosport could get you a better price...they sell both OEM and replica kits...and I do believe they ship internationally (could be wrong tho)

Thanks, I wanted to quote locally before thinking of importing myself. Dealership says parts will "probably" get here in Mar '10!

Now I will definitely consider self import and installation.

Haven't talked to Frank o Garry, yet Nerweezy has PM'd already (thanks!)

Aero kit = Mtec kit or something different?

Also, I was at Santa Monica BMW earlier and they have a 135i in the showroom with an Aero kit on it...
MSRP of 135i = $45k
+ Aero Kit = $13K!!!!!!!! (front bumper, sideskirts, rear bumper, and rear spoiler)
= Total for the 135i was $58k

I don't expect that car to move anytime soon, but dang that Aero kit looked AWESOME (I rarely type in caps, so this time I mean awesome).

Even if it did, anyone who pays $60K for a 1 series is a moron. Sorry, but that is approaching M3 territory, so if you're going to spend that much on a 1 series you need to have your head examined.

I did not see any engine performance upgrades mentioned. It was simply the MSRP sticker and below it was a piece of paper that someone typed up and printed out that just said "with Aero kit add-on" or something of that nature. I reread it several times because I couldn't believe how ridiculous that was. The Aero kit was CF though or at least the front splitters, rear diffuser, and rear spoiler were. CF + stealership = exponentially more expensive.

There was also a 550i GT there . Looks a lot better in person IMHO, but still seems a bit awkward to me. The new Z4's caught my eye, the hardtop convertible with the 300hp twin turbo engine seems like so much fun... drool...
