I hope Hobi should have some kind of warranty that it'll work on all MY of E60 from 03' build to 06' build.
What happen it it does not work and we would waste $500 there.

1st he is a great person and a friend
2nd he is just totaly in to cars and mostly BMW. I was next to him while he did the SMG paddles on my car and it was just incredible to watch him. In a minute there I totaly lost all the worries.
I would say it as this: This guy knows more about E60 electrics than any BMW tech you guys know out there. Trust me. I do not allow any BMW dealership to do more than change the oil. Hobi does the rest for me

You guys are lucky being in the same continent with him, so he can work on your car. We're in the other continent. Especially, I'm on west coast of NA 
, and I'm not sure if Hobi will come by and visit us sometime.
Anyhew, I'll buy airbag and steering wheel first, then get Hobi's stuff later.
