I took off my 6 cd-changer from the glove box when I got the iPod retrofitted. My car is a 2004.
Now I'm about to sell this cd-changer to an individual, but the question is, what has to be done before he can get it installed?
I'm selling the cd-changer with the metal bracket, not anything else with it. I guess at least he needs a wiring harness from a head unit to the glove box right?
Is it always installed at the factory? What else? If someone could tell me the part numbers needed, I would tell it to this possible buyer and I could get rid of the changer at last
!
Thanks!

MY 2007 M5/M6 do not have the cable, while some other 5 and 6 series models do...
The buyer could check the build sheet of his car (or it might be on the window sticker).
The dealer must configure the CCC to enable the CD changer, the system is not "plug and play"

Some models have "CD Changer Prep" and others do not. This is a cable from the CCC (head unit) to the glove box area where the CD changer mounts.
