Hi all,

I have a 2008 BMW 550i with sport package (19 in wheels) and stock conti 2 tires. I have been through 5 flats in about year due to all the flats in North Jersey. But, I think something is wrong with these tires and they are way too sensitive. The car is starting to cost me more than it's worth.

Does anyone have any suggestions on good tires that aren't so prone to flats and are maybe more comfortable and preferrably All Season tires. I really don't care about "speed" performance anymore. I just want good, reliable tires.

I was thinking of getting these...Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position

Any thoughts?

funny you say this.. i have identical car.. and i have the wheel and tire insurance.. i have already had 2 tires replaced.. i now have a bubble in my front passenger tire again! i did get my money back already with the insurance, but now im hoping i have a nice blowout so i can get my curbed rim replaced as well.. i know thats the shady way of doing it.. but i honestly dont feel like sitting in the dealership or driving away in a piece of shit rental again for a few hours to replace a tire.. for the 3rd time! the insurance will only replace the rim if it does not hold air on the tire anymore..

just putting it out there but could it be a certain area your driving around ? nails? screws? glass? once was a nail for me.. second was a bubble.. now another bubble.. ny. nj. roads suck!

You should accidentally run over 5 or 6 glass bottles

Do you drive through areas with lots of construction? That has led to me getting flats in groups but never 5 in 1 year.

Sport tires are very low profile and thus prone to damage from road hazards and other abuse. In my 20K miles I wrecked three Contis and two rims. All were covered by the insurance I purchased with the car.

There was no swapping about of the money. My SA just did the paperwork and I got the car back.

Do you remember that day you were sitting across from the finance guy with his nasty calculator that kept driving up the cost of the car?.......well you said no, one too many times.

choose your route carefully?

I had this problem and worked out the route I used to take to work was also a location for scrap metal lorries... the road would glisten at night from the amount of scrap metal on the road!!
