Hi,

I'm going to be ordering a RPI scoop and I was going to get an BMC filter along with it, but I'm wondering would it be worth changing on my car?

Could someone tell me what difference it will make if any to the car?

Anyone changed their filter on a 520d before?

Thanks.

It won't be like strapping on a supercharger or anything, but it will make the car accelerate more smoothly, shift more crisply and generally make the car feel a bit faster!! my advice would be to buy the filter too and get one of the best inexpensive Mods available for our cars!!

i got mine last week and so far i feel my car response a little faster. its also a little louder too. The red scoop in my car also makes everyone in the street what it is. i always get asked what it is. My girlfriend said " Hey baby whats that red thing inside your car?" hahah but get the upgrade because the more you let your engine breathe the better

BMC > K&N, but in my opinion it isn't worth the jump from $40ish dollars to about $100 for the filter.

this may sound really stupid, but does the 520d have an airfilter?!

The reason why I ask this is because on the petrol engines you've got a big black box to the right side, where was my car doesn't.

The only place where an airfilter can be is right next to the front window (either side) - but this wouldnt make design sense.

Also for my RPI scoop, It looks like my car doesn't does have a turbo air intake, between the radiators and grills - the hole seems to be covered up.

I've be grateful if someone could enlighten me.
