Well thought Id post my experience. so my suspension set-up was the eibach pro-kit with the stock non-sport shocks. it's been about 25k miles with them and on the way to and from MFEST about a little over a week ago I did notice the ride being more bouncy. went ahead and ordered with Joe (r1racer) the Bilstein sport shocks for my e60. had them installed and turns out the stock shocks were not completely gone but were almost there and was a good time to change them out. what a difference. I honestly couldnt tell too much of a change from riding in Joe's car (H&R sport springs and Bilstein sport shocks) but once driving my own car, I understood his point of view as well as the other members that strongly suggest getting aftermarket shocks even with a drop with springs that are not as dramatic as the drop with H&R race springs. I would strongly recommend the same now. big thanks again to Joe. I have to agree that I love that rebound with the road feel putting the "sport" in "sport sedan". the suspension feels stiffer all in all with less body roll on the turns, and I just fell in love with driving my e60 all over again.

here's our original thread for springs and coilovers in the classifieds section

That's exactly how I felt when I added the Koni shocks on the Eibach Pro Kit a while back. it was well needed. =)

Nerwyll,

How does your setup compare to the factory sport option as far as ride height, stiffness, etc...?

I gotta tell you that the Eibach Pro-Kit with the stock M5 shocks and the EDC is perfect. Even my wife thinks its better than stock! Hahahaha! Not sure if the EDC has something to do with it, but I can't imagine swapping shocks.

Regardless, I LOVE the pro-kit. H&R was much harsher in my 530. This is much more comfy and still sporty.

C, always loved the pro-kit.

Mike, you were the first that came to my mind when I was thinking about doing shocks

Alex, sorry but I honestly cannot comment on the ride quality of sport suspension compared to mine because I went from a non-sport suspension to this. the ride height though, the eibach pro-kit lowers a sport model about 0.5" all around
