Took on a minor project over the weekend and painted my kidneys a flat black. I'm actually quite happy with the look although some of you may not like it. Just painted the kidneys and left the chrome grills. Take a look.

Did you sand off the chrome plating before painting?

I have considered painting my kindeys to match my body color (titan gray).

I was told it is best to sand the chrome, then prime, then paint. What was your process???

Any reason you went with a matte black finish instead of getting the paint sprayed in factory match paint?
