biggest practical wheels for 5 series?

the bigger diameter wheel is theoretically going to give you a taller final drive ratio, which will reduce your acceleration. Probably not as noticeable in the V8's.

Correct in general. However wider tires are more comfortable to drive and gives you better tracktion in curves as well as in fast or sudden manouvers. In overall because of the bigger diam your straight acceleration may decrease a bit however then in curves you can be faster than before and still be safe, if you add this together, then it is back to equal.

in my case thou' not yet on: the 20"s will make slower in straight, but I have the remap done nicely, plus not only in straights the acceleration is better but as mentioned also in curves, so + + situation. Aerodynamicaly the ground forces are reduced on the front and rear accel The wheels are ULTRA LIGHT ones 13-14 kg there I save a lot on the weight also the tires are like 11-12kg each so overall the car handels better, goes faster, LOOK like a nice car

I'm dropped and I like my sport 17's just fine!, that and the cost of the tires is 150 max per tire. But dam the 20x11 are sweet nice rims keang! nothing wrong with a little bling now and then!
