I have a 545i Sport. I really HATE that disgusting ugly factory brakes. They are rusty and tiny and well, VERY ugly. did anyone successfully put other brakes on there but STILL running stock 18" wheels? I was thinking of picking up some used G35 brembos or evo brembos. somethng that will definitely fit the stock 18s since I will be using my stockers for the winter. I tried searching everywhere but cant find anything. I dont need something huge or with ultra crazy performance. It's not like it's going to the track. It's slow as hell anyway. More for looks and but please do not tell me about caliper covers. That's the stupidest "invention" made. Ur trapping more heat and would b a bitch to swap pads. Good luck to whoever buys it on ebay. LOL

Have you considered wilwood calipers and having some brakets made? Very economical alternative to brembo. I've been quoted $200 for a brand new pair of dynalites for my e30. And i was quoted $125 for caliper adapters from massivebrakes.com. What ever you end up getting makes sure the caliper piston displacement will work with your stock setup w/o the need for bias valves or larger master cylinder.

wow if the evo brembos was possible i would be up for this...I had an evo before the e60 and loved the brakes on that car...Well i loved the whole car...great driving car..now im just in the cruising mode in the e60..

other than BBKs, we carry replacement rotors that are OEM sized that are drilled and slotted. PM sent

Summit racing sells the dynalites for $124 each, superlite 4's are $189 each. and SL6's cost $345 each. I was able to find a forum member to cut me in a discount(about 20%). Worst case scenario you pay a machine shop $200 to make your brackets. So your looking at anywhere from $450 w/o any discounts for their basic 4 piston calipers to $900 for some sweet six piston calipers. Obviousy you'd also have to add the cost of pads and brake line adapters. I know a guy who makes custom brake lines to your specs for less then $100 per pair. I'll probably go with the SL6R setup in a year or so. I was thinking of setting up a group buy but I don't think anyone would buy from me since i'm new to this forum.

I find it a waste of money to even think about getting a BBK when it's NOT needed and when you're just getting it for looks. You might as well just get the caliper covers... Just admit it, you want to buy them LOL

+1, used take-offs are easy to find, but double check to make sure they'll fit your 18" wheels. I have 19" Style 128s and the fit is pretty tight. I had to get a thin bottle brush to clean the wheel back there. My fingers won't fit between the wheel and the caliper.
