whats a good way to get some decent horsepower out of our cars?? besides forced induction.

Nothing to be completely blunt. You can spend 1-2k on performance parts and you won't gain anymore than 15hp.

If you own a M54 525i (3.0L) then you can easily achieve the 530i HP+5 more, with some little mods. (injectors - remapping)

hey nick - or anyone else - can you pls elaborate? - would these apply equally to an 05 545 with sports package? - if not, what are the easy bang for the buck performance tweaks (if any)? - thanks, ed

i have a 2005 525i bone stock, just trying to get some ideas, i acutally went from a 02 is300turbo to the 5 series BIG difference, but i wanted to calm down and go for luxury....

For your car would be the 3.45 gears. The shorter gearing would provide a calculated torque increase of 18% The cost is less than $2000. you can order and have it installed at your local BMW dealership.
