Help.... I have my 545 Sport in for some work and was called by the dealership saying that I have some cords showing on a front tire. I have never been fully satisfied with the front end vibration and noise (yes I took it in several times only to be told that is a run-flat).

I am thinking that I should go with a non-RF this time. Does anyone have a tire recommendation here for an All Season tire? I now live in florida and as you know we get lots of rain here. I was thinking that an All Season would be my best option. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You don't necessarily need runflats but switching from a high-performance tire to an all-season tire will significantly reduce your car's handling and performance. If you're okay with that, then fine. You paid for the sport package so it's your call whether or not you want to take advantage of it's potential.

Getting 24,000 miles from high-performance tires isn't too bad -- they generally don't rack up the miles like the harder, lower-performing tires...

You may want to call or visit the website of the Tire Rack (www.tirerack.com.) They'll help you decide the best tire for your needs...

(P.S. - If you're now in Florida, you may want to update your location in your profile.)

I agree. 24k is actually good wear. I'd be surprised to get 20k out of my Dunlops.

Unless I keep demanding that they be replaced every six months.

Many of us get PS2s. But, I don't think this tire would work as an all season tire--unless your seasons all are reasonably mild. My recollection is that Michelin makes some effort to make this tire acceptable for reasonably mild all seasons.

i would not go for all season tire because you will not be dealing with snow(even occasional),there are very nice Max perf summer tires out there that handle just fine when it rains. You might want to consider Bridgestone R050/ 03 or Goodyear F1 GS-D3 or Michelin PS2-those would be you top of the list tires.I went for Pirelli PZero Nero all season(i needed that since we do get some snow in NYC) and i love it-i did not loose anything-in fact i gained ride comfort-this tire has a sidewall almost as stiff as Dunlop RF(i compared it myself when both tires were not on the rim)hope it helps

I think if you drive in cold weather (<40F) or rainy conditions you should consider Pirelli PZerooNero M+S (The P Zero Nero (ne' ro - Italian for black) M+S Ultra High Performance All-Season tire ) You will get performance , excellent handeling but less noise

Tire Rack agrees that the Pirelli PZeroNero M+S has great wet performance as well as good all around performance. Is there anyone out there that has actually used these tires? What do you think? Thanks

I'd personally go with Toyo Proxes T1-R tires. Can't get them through Tire Rack.

Apparently a lot of Mini owners have replaced their runflats with T1-S and T1-R tires. I've had T1-S tires on my last car and I know many 911 drivers who wouldn't buy anything else. They're superb.
