i usually wouldnt but what good are forged wheels with crappy tires?

id rather have reps and excellent rubber than forged wheels and something along the lines of nexen 3000 lol

i have other plans for my money (ie house) and spending 7k on wheels and tires just isnt in my budget

even my volk te37's with the s-03s i got for $3500 so its not like i was flinging money out left and right, i got huge hookups on products and installs and thats the only way i could mod my car the way i did

lol im in the army and in school atm so im not made of money
Looks like you've made your decision.

Looks like you've made your decision.

kinda but im wondering if someone with some good knowledge can chime in and give me a reason to stick with authentic BBS and run on cheap tires opposed to the other route

i completely understand the money situation.

As for the tires....i dont know if you track the car or just drive aggressively but i would think the higher quality rims would be a better choice with a middle of the pack tire. What good are amazing tires with heavy rep rims? I dont know the specs on the rims or anything im just assuming they are similar to other reps. After owning reps, using hub rings, and having a few different sets of heavy rims i said i will not buy a set of wheels that is heavy or needs hub rings. There were a few different members who told me not to get reps but i ignored them and got them anyways. Knowing what i know now i would say hold out and get the expensive rims.

Well if it helps your decision, the Chikara or Linea Corse reps don't come in 20'' or else I would have them on my car right now.

Also, I'm pretty sure that you can run better lap times on heavier reps with great tires than lighter wheels with so-so tires. Tires make all the difference in the world for racing/track purposes. But for street use, I'm more than happy with Falken 452s or General Exclaim UHPs.

There are some people on the s2000 forums who can get BBS LM's for $1,500 for a good condition used set in 17'' or 18''. I can ask to see if they can source 19'' or 20'' as well although I'd imagine those would be more rare and still significantly more expensive.

Let me know what you think about my PM.

From what I can gather of you online, I don't think you would be satisfied with replicas. Do the right thing and treat yourself to a proper mod.

Id appreciate that, though there is talk of the Chikara LMs coming in 20's

Chikaras in 20'' would make me drool. Thanks for the heads up on that. I'll try to find the members on the s2000 forums, they go through expensive wheels like hotcakes so I'd imagine they have to have hookups somehow.

dude, its not like if you get a set of falkens ur gonna slip off the earth. you have a 530i (correct me if i'm wrong), i have one as well and the falkens are fine. trust me. why waste money on stupid tires if your not gonna track the car (530i isn't really performance oriented now is it?). i can floor the shit outa the 530i and have like 0 wheelspin with falkens (wish i did on it lol).

rims are way more important than tires. rims you can't easily change, tires u go through all the time. so even if u can only afford decent rubber, then so be it upgrade next time around when they bald

if your talking about an m5 then u need good tires. but for anything less, it is what it is.. traction control will take care of less performing tires on the roads.

last but not least, take a look for some used tire deals. you can find barely used tires with the majority of the thread life left on them for half the price or less!

get vredestien sessenta ultra tires, they have a great tread and are inexpensive. Then youll have some extra cash to ball out for the bbs. Those are sick wheels, im def gonna dump out my petrols eventually for them. Good luck.
