Hi
When I was in the UK a few months ago I picked up this battery tender (Part no. 61.43.2.154.949) as both my wife and I are only doing short runs in our cars. We have both had the AGM batteries fitted but they still need the occasional charge. I cannot buy this battery charger here in Australia as they refuse to sell it, and the only one we have access to is approx $500.

There is an adapter cable (71.60.7.690.235) which I bought from BMW Park Lane service, and it has the connections to fit directly to my battery. I fitted it and just have a small outlet showing in the boot.
The other day the wife's X5 4.8 went down and needed a charge but the X5 has charging posts under the bonnet, so I had to unscrew the mounts to get the adapter to work.
According to the instructions, there is an adapter cable with crocodile clips that you can buy, but I don't know the part number.
Is there a UK member that would be willing to (for a fee) go to a BMW dealer and buy the adapter cable for me and send to Australia?
Cheers
John

71607690235 is an adapter lead for a common charging device used on BMW Motorrad K series motorcycles. Have you tried a bike store instead? The adapter lead is item 2 here:

The price for this adapter lead is about $34 USD in the US. You could try http://www.motorcycles.bmw.com.au/ to locate a Motorrad dealer.

I'll help but be warned shipping from UK to down under is not cheap. PM me what you need.

It might be a coincidence but that BMW unit looks uncannily like the chargers these guys make

Here is exact the same charger: Ctek XS3600
Adapter cable can be found here: Comfort Indicator ? clamps (56-384)
Here is where to buy it in Australia: Ctek Dealers
I have exactly the same charger myself. Works great. Use the "snowflake" program for AGM batteries.
