I thought I had seen a small trickle charger made by BMW that plugs into the cigarette lighter. I sometimes go a week or so without driving the car and want to keep the battery charged, especially now that's it's winter. Am I correct - does BMW make the thing?

Isn't this counter to the Law of Conservation of Energy?
Edit: Ah yes. Silly me. There's plugging and there's connecting and charging...

BMW had a solar panel which you could plug in to your cigarette lighter and it was charging the battery.
But this is not possible anymore, since the new BMW models would be in big trouble with it.
So BMW stopped selling those.
