I just put my new 166's on, but got some questions for all the OEM 166 owners:

-What do you think about riding comfort? Mine dramatically decreased
-How did the power of your car decreased? I got the feeling that i'm always pulling a caravan + my top speed is now 195Km/h and before 230 km/h
-The handeling of the car also decreased, its always seeking his way in on the road, not a straight line anymore.

My setup: OEM 166's with 2x Dunlop sportmaxx 245/35/19 and 2x dunlop sportmaxx 275/30/19
My car: E60 525d 177 Ps

1. I bet you went from 17" wheels to the 166 wheels which are 19". In doing so your ride quality will decrease since you now have less tires on the wheels. It's the price to pay when you upsize wheels.

2. The car will feel a little slower b/c the 19" wheels weigh more than what you had on before.

3. The handling is fine. It's your new tires that is the temporary problem. Your tires are tramlining b/c they are new. Give it a few hundred miles and it'll be fine.

After swapping from the 18" runflats, the ride quality has certainly improved with the 19" 166's, so can't comment on your feeling from 17's to 19's.
But I have found the 166 setup quite sensitive to tyre pressures. I think because of the aggressive offset at the fron (wider track with OEM 166's), it's even more exagerated. I struggled with tramlining and generally an unstable feeling at speed, always having to correct the steering as if the car was being blown off course.
Completely cured the problem by lowering the pressures. I have Goodyear F1 GS D3's all round with 2.5bar in the front and 2.9bar in the rear.

That's also my problem, i have 2.2 bar in the front and rear

I came from 16" standard rims

So that's a huge different

Why am i the only one who is complaining about his 166's?

Not only do 19" weigh more but going larger in diameter will increase your final drive ratio so your car WILL accelerate slower.

I switched to the 166's and and the car does feel a little different (mainly just a bit more sensitive over bumps) but not a drastic difference by any means.

I'm willing to bet you'll get use to the ride quality and everything will be fine in 3-4 weeks with some regular driving.

Good luck. I really like my 166's, but I'd LOVE to see some pics of 167's on a white e60. I think I may switch to 167's in the near future.

dunlop sport maxx's are not really dependable ones, you might want to upgrade speed rated tires for that kind of speed rate sir.
I used them before and they wear very very fast. I recommend continental vmax version or Michelin PS2

fyi, 166 wheels are made by BBS (race wheels manufacturer since 80s) and they are pretty lightweight constructed compare other 19" wheel sizes.
your car is still running good its just you are not used to ride on 19"s

and I strongly recommend to change the suspension to Coil over kit on 19" wheels set up it makes a bid difference on Ride comfort and stability
of your car at turns and on high speeds.

You have to re-align the car once you installed the 19" wheels and you will notice a huge handling/stability improvement then
