I was looking at my car today from behind. I noticed that both wheels from the back are actually not straight up as in top to bottom, but instead they sit a little off going outwards. I mean the top of the wheel will be a bit further inside the body of the car and the edge that touches the road will be a little further away from the body.

Is this normal? 530i 2006.

Yes, it's the way BMW sets up the car. A little negative camber for handling.

Good to know! The first thing I tought was how odd that was, and I had the epifany. These BMW engineers are pretty good, its got to be some of their neat tricks.

Your inside tire tread will start to wear first, so keep an eye on it.
