I have an appointment to have the auxillary input installed. I'm going to be using it primarily for XM (i'm a poor sap with nav and no sat pre-wire) and for IPOD.

I want the input installed in an area that will allow me to easily switch between the two sources and also minimize the amount of wire and clutter in the car.

With that in mind, I would like your help/recommendations with the following:

1. Where did you have the input installed in your e60?
2. Are you happy with the location?
3. If you could change the input's location, where would you move it to and why?

Thanks all.

Happy. Easy to reach, out of sight, not bothering the passenger.

The technician put it in the glovebox, which is fine for me. My Ipod has a 6 ft cable so I rest it next to the I-drive knob, but could place it pretty much anywhere.

I would like to get it installed in the center console area, but I'm afraid it would cost too much $$. I would like to be able to plug my Palm Theater (Panasonic 9" DVD) into it and it will be probably resting on the rear center armrest on a custom mount - too far away for the glovebox. It would be nice to have a splitter and have one on the rear of the console area and then one in the glovebox too. Anyone used a splitter?

I'm a future E90 owner with iDrive, so I am not going to register, I would like to create as much interest in iDrive integration as possible,

Do if someone could please post this on the general topics forum, it would be much appreciated.

Thank you & best regards,
Jim
