Came across this posting on ebay

http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-E60-5-Se...item3f11c08205

Would that be as simple as it sounds? SImply getting it plugged into the back of the radio unit and them programmed to have the AUX option?

It looks like someone has created their own "AUX-IN" kit. They've installed Tyco pins on the leads and removed the factory capacitors/circuitry. You will still need to get the car programmed. He doesn't even post a picture of the actual product. I'd stay away from this one, personally.

Thanks for the input. Does look tempting though, especially since he states that it has better sound quality than the OEM aux input. If I'm not mistaken, I remember members having very loss bass response when they added the OEM aux input so maybe this guy has found a way around it? I know anybody can claim to have anything which is why I'm asking you guys for your thoughts.

This guy is selling you a 1 buck cable for 40 bucks and you think that's a good deal! You don't need to buy this if you want to do something similar.

Just buy a stereo plug, crimp on 3 female contacts and you have what he is selling.

You can make your own AUX plug from getting a couple of bits from an electronics store. I didn't realised how simple the cable is after paying 90AUD for it
