HELP, I have 04 530i with the Logic 7 sound system and the aux input. Added sirius via a sporster 4 and the aux cable from the sporster to the aux intut. (car not prewired, arghh). Anyway, sound only comes from left side fron t & rear, right side has a low humm. Any ideas, I assumed aux input was a stereo input and I know the cable is a stereo plug with the 2 black bands on the plug ends. Any ideas???.

Have you tried plugging the unit and cable into another car/home stereo just to prove that it isn't a problem with those bits?

If you have then I'm reasonably sure its a problem with the wiring on the Aux input on your car and a job for the dealer or a proper audio specialist.

I think the AUX input wasn't standard until 06 or 07 production, but it may be different on L7. If it's aftermarket, then it looks like it'll be the audio specialist who'll have to figure it out. My AUX input (8/06 production) does play in stereo.

There were some complaints that dealers were installing the AUX input wires backwards... do some searches and see if you come up with anything. I have to run off right now otherwise I would.

Try like AUX muffle, AUX quality, AUX sound they're 3 different searches.

Thanks to all, so far I removed the device and cord, tested all out ok with other setups outside of the vehicle. As added info, aux input was added by Dealer upon sale of the car as a CPO in may 07 and it's a BMW part located in the glove box, just below the flashlight on the left side.

Looks like a trip to the dealer will be in order.

Further info reveals its a BMW issue. All equipment checks out fine in other vehicles, etc. The Car does play fine though with my ipod, so either the issue is associated with the 12v lighter plug (but ok in other cars) or the aux is wired wrong. Will advise when BMW takes a look.

Ok, car just returned, I was told that the issue is a mix.
BMW NA is aware of the problem created when the power is supplied via the 12v accessory. They claim the power outlet causes the problem since it doesnt occur when a battery powered device is used. BMW has a case # assigned but no fix. Amazzing for such a vehicle.

Looking now to find some method of hardwiring (not sure if it will solve problem) and/or adding an electronic filter (not sure about this one either). Arghhhh.
