Don't forget, most installs were correct the first time including mine. And I provided this PDF to get the ball rolling, although I could not say for certainty that the BMW tech used my supplied documents. I'm sure the part comes with its own install package and they work from that. So in truth I do not know which or what document is wrong, or even if it is wrong. Just some reports claiming that when it did not work first time, some BMW centers claimed that the wires were reversed and that the "documentation" was incorrect. May have well been the techs did it wrong or that the better techs saw the error and made it right. No one knows for sure

My German dealer didn't use the PDF and still got it wrong so maybe the internal BMW instructions are a problem too.

the aux shows up in the idrive, and the input jack is in the glove box.....? but no audio comes out? with aux selected and when connecting up the ipod.....
I made an appointment to get it fixed, but they can't get me in for a week....? since it's in idrive, I assume it's programmed ok, but maybe the plug wasn't put in the right slot?
Is this an easy mod that I can check myself? any special tools needed?
for any insight....
Yes, high. As FiskeGTS said, $75 for parts - labor has varied across the reports from low of ~ $90 to high of over $200, but average is closer to ~$100. I paid $300 total for Aux P&L plus phone cradle which was $130 so $170 for Aux P&L.

my aux. input didn't work at first as well.
The dealer had to reprogram and had the car all night connected to DIS for a full reload.
