With Hi-Fi option (not an option but a standard in USA) I am very satisfied from my iPod.
I tried direct connection (top iPod earphone) and preamplified connection through Belkin FBV 7058 APL (using bottom output from iPod).
Much better without Belkin.
i-Drive
Glove compartment
I got CIP 15 too.
From my dealer: "No news about direct integration between i Drive and i Pod (such as in X5).

I mean that the little gain advantage in amplitude(very little and useless), with volume regulation in Belkin preampl, is killed by a superimposed noise and buzzling introduced as an interference between Belkin and Car sound System, perhaps in my experience and installation.
The volume regulation (about 90-95%) on iPod wheel 4G and head set connection work greatly in my installation.
Some few MP3 songs/audio may be lower coded in volume, you can rise up car volume or recode MP3 with higher volume: both without prejudice of final quality.
Now I'am selling Belkin pre and charger and use only charger adapter, perhaps by Belkin too.
Exactly, but not yet available for E60.

You meant that Belkin preamp is not as good as direct connection to the ipod?

Sorry for what I said.
There was a fault in my Belkin preamp, with a new one all is working great, with a correct dynamic sound, taking output from the bottom of iPod.
