Interesting - I'd much rather try out the LEDs the OP linked to on ebay - looks like 1/2 the price for a somewhat similar product. Seller's ratings look strong too. I'm thinking it may be an easy and useful way to get some additional lighting in the trunk.
BTW, ebay shoppers can get an extra 3% rebate too by shopping thru the link in my signature. Remember, it's not how much you make ... but how you spend it

I just found out the inside top of the trunk is metal without "carpet" wrap.
I plan to do a square with maybe 6 stripes in line to light up the trunk!!! And around the trunk lip with 3x.

By the way, searching Ebay I found these. looks like they use blocks of 3 independent SMD LEDs instead of 3 combined into 1. and use more Wattage = more brightness.

Make them strobe sequentially from right to left, then you'll have something.
