I'm thinking about painting my wheels carbon black or black - but im not sure how they'd look. So i was wondering if anyone has done it?
Also is there any paint i could use to 'test' it out first - which can be removed easily?
And if it does look good, what would be the best way to do this mod - i.e. paint type to use?

Wheels should never be dark gray or black unless your racing.

Black chrome would look fine on a dark color. I might do that with my 08 Carbon Black 550 Sport.

Yep, same colour. I really think it would be a good idea, and look great. But i was hoping someone had done it before or even knew the correct paint to use

Here is a pic of the M172's painted chrome shadow. I think they look great. They got more positive reviews that negative.

another option for you to have black/dark wheels would be powder coating. this is something that has crossed my mind multiple times just to get a new look, but for me i dont know just yet.

when you say powder coating, what do you mean?
Im really starting to think that carbon black alloys would look really good, but i have no idea what paint type to use.

Olli had his 20's colour matched Carbon Black HERE.

They are aftermarket wheels but he might be able to help with advice on the colour matching!

Those rims look great with the silver lip. Not quite sure how you would get that look with any of the OEM M wheels, because of how the spokes flow into the lip

biggun - what rims do you have?
