I love my V1, except for all the false alarms...
Check out the GPS Truelock Filter Demo, seems like a great feature.

I have one of the Escort 9500i and I love it! Since it has a GPS, it also calculates your speed, then adjusts it's sensitivity based on speed. Very cool!

Seems like a great idea, and I may buy one.
Though I did get concerned after watching this video:
The summary is that they demonstrate how locking out weak false signal in a particular area later will block a strong real signal close by. So while it does do a good job of blocking false signals, it's still not quite smart enough to distinguish something that a human would likely be able to pick up on.

Are you sure that it adjusts its sensitivity by speed? I contacted escort to compare whether my 8500 x50 is just as good, but they said it had the same sensitivity. Only new thing added was the gps feature.
Correct me if I am wrong, since i only have the 8500 x50 and not the 9500

My thoughts:
1. Wait until it's been out at least a year. Give the manufacturer time to work out bugs and let other people beta test it.
2. It's still an Escort. Not saying that is good or bad. Just saying the detector is the most important part and how well it functions. Again, I'd wait until there is more data available on performance, etc.
3. You have to compare the features and user interface to what else is out there or what you've already got. For instance, I also use a V1. I'm willing to put up with the "false alerts" because I love the arrows and bogey counter and feel they are a must-have.
4. Your brain is your best detector (i.e. situational awareness).
