Anyone interested in OEM style back up camera kit?

Cool mod.
With regards to the warranty issue, if your car's at the dealer and they put it in reverse, it would become pretty obvious you've modded the electronics so is it relatively easy to unplug and/or remove?
I'm in the process of deciding on an extended warranty and they're pretty specific that aftermarket electronic video/audio/nav equipments are not covered and most likely would void the warranty of any OEM parts connected.
Oh and what's the complete, installed price again?

Until I get a vendor/sponsor account, I'm not allow to sell anythings here.

Regarding the vendor/sponsor account, other forums require you to pay a periodic fee for being a vendor, this one doesn't. This forum is mainly funded by monetary contributions from members and vendors but it's not mandatory. Of course, the broader community would look more favorably towards you as a vendor if you contributed. There's also no minimum amount that I'm aware of but the more the better. =)
So you can start selling but do read this thread and comply to the two simple rules: https://5series.net/forums/index.php?showto...t=0&start=0

Ok, so here is small update of PnP kit,
This is PnP Harness kit which will be included every interface kit, (it's not final product yet)
I gotta make few things clear before I post price and more details,
This multimedia interface kit is Video Source Switching Module (it has 3 AV inputs, 1 Rear Cam Input and 1 AV output)
Even it has AV output, you still need to have Aux Input installed on your BMW to play sound thru your stock speakers,
Because you use Aux Input as audio source input by using Aux to RCA cable,
So if you don't have Aux input, there will be no sound but video on screen.
It will work without Navigation, but you have to have iDrive AND Screen installed,
Interface kit will do the trick - Switching iDrive screen to AV input screen by pressing iDrive controller "MENU" button for 2 seconds.
* Bring back to stock screen : simply press iDrive controller "MENU" button once.
Installation will be simple as following steps
1. Remove trunk handle and install back up camera, run the wire to front
2. Remove stock screen and disconnect LCD cable
3. Remove front dash trim so you can disconnect Radio harness cable
4. Connect PnP harness kit (female side) to radio and connect stock radio harness cable to the other side of PnP harness (male side)
5. Connect LCD cable you removed from stock screen to interface module (LCD-IN)
6. Connect new LCD cable (comes with interface kit) to interface module (LCD-OUT) and connect the other end to your stock screen
7. Connect Power Cable & AV Input/Output cables to Interface Kit
8. Connect Rear Cam RCA cable to interface kit (Rear Cam Input) and Power adapter from PnP harness to rear cam power cable
9. Connect any media devices to interface module (AV Input) with composite cable
10. Put everything back, unit can be hide/placed behind the stock screen
Units with PnP Harness will be available to purchase in next week,
*DIY guide will be updated once I get units in
- Interface kit + Back up camera for ~2008 with 1st gen iDrive : $495
- Interface kit + Back up camera for 2009~ with 2nd gen iDrive : $505
- RCA Y-Cable (to enable the rear view camera while driving) : $7.99
- Aux to RCA Cable (Only if you have Aux input installed) : $4.99
- Shipping : Depends on your location
Once again, I'm in N. CA and will offer free installation for local buyer.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions via PM or email : kris@modmynav.com
Thank you!
