Wondering if anyone installed higher wattage consuming 9006 bulbs on their foglights such as MTEC HB4 9006 4X XENON SUPER WHITE HALOGEN BULBS.

I am a little bit hesitate to purchase because of the 80W instead of 55W. I asked the seller and he said he sold tons of them and never hear any buyer said the 80w bulbs will melt or hard the wire. Can anyone share?
Thank you.

You can retrofit a 9005 bulb @ 65w, 10w more than the 9006.
All you'll have to do is slightly modify it to fit, very easy.
Here's a link to explain:http://www.bmwe34.net/E34main/Upgrade/More_light.htm
Another alternative would be running an HID setup. A better choice IMO
edit: I wouldn't risk running a higher wattage bulb like 80w because you will melt your wires and housing w/ prolong use

I changed to regular xenon type H3 which is not as yellow as stock, and somewhat close to the 4500k stock HID when fully lit.

I ordered new fog bulbs on my 545i. Contact Jimmy540i. Great Seller, great product. I would stay away from higher wattage bulbs. I have done this on one of my other cars in the past to find one day the wiring harness had caught fire and luckily just melted. Could have been a lot worse.
