I know this may rile up a bunch of people, but I'm going to say it anyway.
Just by chance, yesterday I parked my Titanium silver 550i right next to a newer Titanium Silver 550i. It had the M-Tech bumpers, and I realized how "rock'n'roll" they make the car look. They're not over the top, but I just don't want any "I'm a race car! Look at me!" parts on my car.
Maybe I'm just enjoying the relative anonymity of my car after driving 911s for the past 15 years.... Porsches are never subtle.
Anyone just else like the plain-Jane look better?
Aside from the bumpers, I did like a bunch of other things about the newer car: sport steering wheel, 19" M-wheels, and especially the LCI tail lights.

I love the m-tech front. Not only completes the care but gives it a much more sporty look. Especially living in south fl where there are way to many BMW's its nice to have something that set's you apart from the others.

the m tech kit completes the car, imo that is how a bmw 5 series should look, sporty, aggressive, yet classy.....

The M-Tech bumpers are ghetto and anyone on this forum who has it on their car is wack.

Don't all 550s come with the M Aero kit from the factory? Maybe with sport package, but still, I thought more 550s than not had the M5 looking bumper atleast. Seeing as you have an 06 550, maybe they started it in 2008, because I know the brochure for the 5er said the 550 came with it.
