anyone from long island know anyone who can do this cheap? Only guy I could find was crazy expensive... Anyone know if the paint fade will be affected by the covering?
Too expensive and you don't need to cover so many parts. The recommended parts to cover are the front bumper, hood, side view mirrors and side fender panels. The hood part should go up at least 6" past the headlight end. They sell two sizes for the hood make sure you get the larger one. I had mine installed at Prestige BMW. If you are interested call prestige in New Jersey, 201-327-2525 ext.6042 and ask for Teresa. Tell her Rick Garcia recommended you to her and what's the best price she could do on the clear coat bra. It's about $750 for the parts I mentioned and should be negotiable. To answer your other question the bra will not fade your paint and is wax-able but not compoundable, so be careful.

Good luck and let me know what happens.

Rick....

I did a ton of research on this before I got my clearbra and went with http://www.ventureshield.com/

I have some posts somewhere about it. Anyway, the 3m's do turn yellow! the ventureshield seems a bit thicker but has a lifetime warranty on getting yellow. 7 months in socal and still clear as day. I was at eurorev and saw a white 335 with a 3m clearbra that was already yellow, and vincent said it was only 3 months old!

I'd stay away from 3m, and go with ventureshield. I got the front, headlights, side mirrors, door sills, and trunk strip (where you pull things in and out of the trunk, i got the bumper part covered). I think it was about $500.

Anyway, it's a great product and already has saved my front end from what looks like a parking lot scuff from a white car. There was what looked like paint from a white car about 6 inches by 3 inches on the lower skirt of the car. I was able to take some wax and a rag, and it all came off! No scratch on the car, and the ventureshield protected the paint. Paid for itself already in my opinion.

?? not sure what the question is. It's a protective film on the car, completely stuck to your car. No water gets under it, you don't treat it any different than your paint. Although they do only recommend hand wax and not machine wax when you do detail it.
