Has anyone had their stock 172 rims refinished to any other colors? I'm looking to do mine but would like to see some examples if they are out there.

Not sure about the all black. Mine are kinda stained and slight scrapes. Im debating about taking them to get sand blasted and powdercoated.
Might try to colormatch them to my car (space gray) or a light silver for contrast, still not sure.
OP: your car is white? i think you might be able to pull off black wheels though

Yeah, my 550 is white. I may not want to go all black, perhaps gunmetal or some other darker variant. I kinda don't really know which I'd like which is why I'm hoping some others have more photos of this rim in other colors.

My Ride: 2008 BMW 550i, Dinan intake, Dinan exhaust, RPI ram air scoop, smoke vinyled taillights and eyebrow on headlights, smoked LED side markers, 17 piece LED interior lights, color matched fog lights to HID's, 20w LED angel eyes, Sprintbooster V2, Gunmet
Just power coated mine three weeks ago. Great job and really affordable. I found this guy in Santa Ana who did all 4 rims for 300. That included housing the vehicle, unmounting and remounting the tires, and he even fixed the curb rash I had on one rim. Great guy. Name is Fausto and he owns and operates Metal Works Place. I love my rims! Two day turnaround.

You can powder coat any color you want. It's better than paint in the sense that it doesn't chip as easily. I asked for a gunmetal and he had two versions to choose from. I also wanted a high gloss finish. You can choose matte, med gloss or high gloss from the shop I went to. They can order a different color if the ones they have aren't to your liking. Good luck brotha. I think a gunmetal will look sick on alpine white. Black would look great as well. Ask away if you need more help.
