With my mercedes, there were different dealers that offered different prices on parts. Can anyone recommend a dealer with good prices? I'm trying to get the kidney grills for my 545. They want 50 bucks for each at my dealer. Just wondering if there are any other parts sources out there.

Cravier BMW. When you are in the parts dept. order the item and use the "secreat handshake" word: "ROADFLY" keep it discreed because there is this dicotemy of pricing. The guy next to you is paying full retail.

cheers,

why do you want the kidney grilles for your 545? all 545, sport or non sport, come w/chrome kidney grilles. do you mean you want the one w/black inserts, standard on 525 and 530 ? if so, just make a post in here and i'm sure some members are more than happy to swap them w/you. if not, pm me. i have a pair extra black insert ones sitting in my trunk.

I want a set of the chrome grill frames because i want to paint them black to match my car. I know i can just take mine off and paint those but i want a set of the stock ones just in case the painted ones get too chipped. I have to buy them with the grill inserts, can't just get the frames

if you want to paint them black, you don't have to get the chrome ones. just the ones w/black inserts (standard on 525 and 530) with the chrome surroundings of course. they are cheaper than the chrome ones. you can't just get the inserts or just the two rings/frames. btw, if $50 each for the chrome one from your dealer, the price is very good . so if you want extra ones w/black inserts, pm me .

btw chrome does not paint easily. Paint has a tendency to chip off easily unless the chrome is scuffed up with sand paper and special primers are used. You'd be better off not starting with chrome. Paint on chrome is nearly guaranteed to flake off.

Also, BMW car club of America membership will help to provide discounts on parts at some dealers or parts stores, ask the dealer if they give dscounts for that membership.
