Hello all,

Just ordered an '08 535i Twin Turbo and was wondering if there are aftermarket hp mods available yet? Like a tuner w/tune, CAI, exhaust, etc?

I'm new to the BMW world so if I missed anything, please chip in with your suggestions!!

Cheers!

update your profile to where you are located so we can help you better

here is the website (e90post) to all the information about the twin turbo engine and the mods you can do
http://www.e90post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=58

dont be distracted that you are looking at a 3 series forum. the 335 and 535 share the same engine, so all the mod components are the similar.

my suggestion, get a chip for the car first.

Welcome! You'll love your new car. My 535i is the 25th car I've owned since I turned 16 (I'm 27) and none of the other cars even approach this one as being my favorite. The aftermarket is moving very slowly for the 535i as opposed to the 335i, but at least it is moving. Most, if not all, of the major tuning companies that have tuners for the 335i also have tuners for the 535i. They are essentially the same tuner to my knowledge. There are also a couple companies making downpipes with either high-flow cats or no cats at all. I think the jury is still out on whether or not those DP's will work well in conjuction with the tuners that are available though. Unless something just came out, there are no CAI or exhaust systems that are specifically for the 535i. You can add a K&N replacement filter, but I don't know if it makes a tremendous difference in power. And of course you'll want to keep in mind that any of those things could void your warranty depending on what the people are like that run the service department at your dealer. Anyway, that's about the extent of my knowledge, and I'm sure that someone on here has more knowledge than me. Hope this helps a little.

no 550 needed as the numbers of the active chip stated above beats the 550's and does it cheaper
