One side of my AE has went out and I was wondering if it's a bulb replacement or full piece replacement? If it's just a bulb, then do you know the bulb type/number? I've read a lot of the AE info on the forum, but $200-300 bucks seems like a lot for bulbs. Thanks

It's a bulb in a special holder. If you've not updated to LED AEs maybe a forum member who has will sell you a replacement original. The upgraded AE's are out there starting for about $100 and up. The brighter halo's are well worth it IMHO and an easy DIY.

It's good news that's it's just a bulb, but the LED part? Is there a LED bulb that plugs into the old bulb's spot, any issues with warning lights popping up?

Correct, the AE upgrades vary in style holder, are usually direct plug in, and offer a brighter HALO without bulb errors.

Search "Angel Eyes" for forum posts about this upgrade

The original bulb is size BA9S. You can replace that tiny bulb with an LED type but it won't be any brighter.

I would recommend a full LED replacement for a whiter output:

My angel eyes went out a few times, but I made them go back on with a light tap of the side of my fist on the headlight. It worked in the past half a year twice on the right and once on the left.
